Our vision

By both being located in Ecully, and having been neighbours for some 30 years, CENTRALE LYON and EMLYON Business School already have established a long history of collaboration.
As the Deans of these schools working together, we envision a new type of higher education: multidisciplinary and carrying a global reach because science, business and finance form the triangle of success in our modern life.

Thus the “YIN YANG” alliance came into being, as the two schools are closely linked, and fully complement each other in terms of harmony, sharing a vision and common values.

The project aims to better prepare future leaders by giving them both the technical skills and managerial competences they need, plus the means to stay flexible in a changing environment.

The new system encourages innovation, creativity with respect to the ethical values and social justice that drive us forward.

We based Yin Yang upon 7 key ideas:

- Creation of a new school granting degrees as manager/innovator and engineer/entrepreneur.
- Construction of a projects factory: an incubator, meeting place, crucible of innovative projects and more.
- Consolidation of continuing education in a “Learning Village.”
- Mutual strengthening of educational activities.
- Creation of an organisation to manage common resources.
- Signed international alliances.
- Development of a “green” campus, symbolic in opening up its facilities to other schools located in Ecully

Yin Yang reflects our two schools’ desire to bring their wealth and contributions to the University of Lyon with the common goal of establishing a centre of excellence in the region.
